Okinawa Direct is a free, independent travel guide. Please read this page before relying on what you find here.
Information changes, so check before you go
Opening hours, prices, flight schedules, ticket rules, hotel rates, beach seasons and events change, sometimes without notice. We check the facts on each page against official sources and show the date we last checked them. But we can't guarantee that every detail is complete, accurate or current on the day you read it.
Before you travel, book or spend money, confirm the details with the official source: the business, the airline, the hotel, the team, or the public authority. We link to these sources at the bottom of each page.
When a page hasn't been re-checked for a while, it shows a notice saying the information may be out of date.
Safety
Weather, typhoons, sea conditions and marine hazards (such as box jellyfish) can be dangerous. Our seasonal information is based on long-term averages from official sources and is for planning only. During your trip, follow the latest warnings and instructions from the Japan Meteorological Agency, local authorities, lifeguards and your airline. Nothing on this site is professional safety, medical, legal or financial advice.
Prices and exchange rates
Prices on this site are examples from the date shown, under the conditions shown (for example, two adults, one room, one night). Taxes, service charges and fees may or may not be included, as noted. Exchange-rate figures come from official data for the date shown and are approximate. The amount you pay will depend on when and how you book.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep this guide accurate and fix mistakes quickly. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on information on this site without confirming it with the official source, or from changes made by third parties after we checked. Nothing on this page limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
Corrections
If you find something wrong or out of date, please tell us. We review every report, fix confirmed errors, and note significant corrections at the bottom of the page under "Corrections and updates."
Independence, links and advertising
- We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by United Airlines, the Ryukyu Golden Kings, the B.LEAGUE, or any hotel, restaurant or business mentioned, unless a page clearly says so.
- Names of businesses and teams are used only to identify them. Trademarks belong to their owners.
- Some pages may contain affiliate links. If a page does, it says so at the top and marks each paid link. We may earn a commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend.
- Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.
Photos, videos and content
Photos are used under their licenses and credited on each page and on our Photo credits page. Videos are shown only through YouTube's official embedded player, and the creators keep all rights to them. Some pages without a photo use an illustration made with AI (ChatGPT) at the top. Each one is labeled as an AI illustration, not a photo, and the real place looks different. If you own rights to something on this site and want it changed or removed, contact us through our contact form. We usually reply within a week.
